Lael’s Moon Garden Shares Their Eden with You
Bethany and Larry Lael are both recovering bureaucrats.  About a decade ago, they bailed out of Washington State government with the cockamamie idea to build Lael’s Moon Garden Nursery. The nearby Riverside Nursery was for sale and they bought the inventory, moved it to their farm and set out to become famous one gardener at a time. At first, Larry ran the nursery while Bethany continued working for Washington State Parks and worked at the nursery on weekends. In the beginning the only help was John Deere. The business has grown quickly and steadily. A couple of years after opening, Bethany was able to work for the nursery full time. In addition to Larry and Bethany, the nursery currently employs three outstanding employees with extensive experience in horticulture and nursery management.Larry has now assumed the title of Supreme Commander whereupon Bethany dubbed herself the Extreme Supreme Commander. (Actually, she’s the brains and he lifts heavy things.) In the event of a difference of opinion in the nursery leadership, he knuckles under as quickly as possible.  Somehow, it all works well, they remain happy in their work and the nursery has prospered.
